Gilman Scholars Writing Workshop - October 2nd

The Gilman Scholarship is a generous federal scholarship for study abroad and a great opportunity to receive a grant to fund your international experience. UT Austin is consistently a top producer of Gilman Scholars.

The essay review workshop will provide additional information about the selection criteria, essay prompts, and brainstorming exercises to strengthen the essay part of your application. If you have a draft of your essays, please have them ready to share virtually so you can continue the writing process at the workshop.

You are eligible to apply if you are:

• A U.S. Citizen
• Receiving a Federal Pell Grant.
• Studying in a country that is not rated a 3 or 4 under the Travel Advisories issued by the department of state
• Your program is eligible for credit

The deadline to apply is October 6th, 2020 (Please be aware that the application deadlines is in Pacific Time and take into consideration any time difference as you prepare to submit your application). Education Abroad is hosting two information sessions and an essay review workshop to help you prepare a competitive application.
