Chautauqua: There’s No Place Like Home: The Story of Austin’s Housing Crisis

The Polymathic Scholars are proud to present the annual Chautauqua: There’s No Place Like Home: The Story of Austin’s Housing Crisis. This entirely student-run event is happening next Wednesday, April 6th from 6-8:30 pm in WCP 1.402.

This year’s Chautauqua will consist of a panel discussion, open to the public, about the factors that inflate Austin’s real-estate market, consequences of unaffordable housing on low-income and minority populations, and actions taken to address these issues. The speakers for this year's Chautauqua are:

Steve Adler - Mayor of Austin
Dr. Jake Wegmann - Associate Professor in the School of Architecture; UT Austin
Dr. Elizabeth Mueller - Associate Professor in the School of Architecture; UT Austin
Dr. Allan Cole - Deputy to the President for Societal Challenges and Opportunities & Bert Kruger Smith Centennial Professor in the Steve Hicks School of Social Work; UT Austin
