Pterodáctilo is looking for Writers!

Pterodáctilo, the online revista de arte, literatura, lingüistica y cultura run by the Department of Spanish & Portuguese graduate students, is looking for writers! If you're interested in participating, send an email to utpterodactilo@gmail.com.

Our bloggers contribute one short article per semester (500-900 words, in any language) on topics ranging from Latin American film, literature, theater, and archives to pedagogy, scholarship, and the state of the humanities. You can read some of our past writing at this website!

You can also contribute writing short (~500 words) reviews of Latin American fiction, poetry, or translations. These reviews can be about new literature or a new take on classic or under-appreciated works.

Yet another way of contributing can be writing reflections on current events happening around campus or in the community, from poetry readings or musical events to academic conferences or political climate on/off-campus. To report on an event, you can contact us at any time.

Finally, a lot of people have shown interest in contributing to our ongoing series of podcasts. These are typically interviews with scholars visiting our campus or department for a special event, but the podcasts could include other formats (tertulias, sports, etc.) you find interesting.

Pterodáctilo is an entirely graduate-student-run journal and a great opportunity to participate in an online conversation about culture and scholarship. We're open to pitches!
