Liberal Arts in Medicine Panel

Join us for the fourth installment of The Futures Initiative, a program highlighting how studying humanities and social sciences prepares students for public and professional lives of purpose. Four UT Liberal Arts alumni will be joining us via Zoom to talk about the important work they do in the medical field, as well as how their liberal arts background helps on the job.

Panelists:

  • Ghazaleh Moayedi, DO, MPH, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Pegasus Health Justice Center and board-certified OB/GYN 
  • Piraye Yurttas Beim, PhD, Founder & CEO of Celmatix, developing groundbreaking products in women's health 
  • Bruce Meyer, MD, MBA, President, Jefferson Health, Professor of OB/GYN and Population Health 
  • John Bedolla, MD, Assistant Director of Research Education and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Dell Medical School 

The panelists will start by introducing themselves and their work; we will then be taking questions from the audience. Learn how your liberal arts background prepares you for the medical field. This special virtual event is exclusively for Liberal Arts Longhorns.
