Student Organizations: BridgeTexas
BridgeTexas is a student-run organization dedicated to bringing together students of diverse viewpoints to talk about the current issues of our time in a productive and empathetic way. We do this in two ways: by creating conversation spaces where students can discuss their ideas and learn about their ideological opponents’ experiences that inform their political beliefs. This allows students to practice critical thinking and productively engaging with ideas they disagree with. Second, we host larger events that bring leaders of clubs, professors, or other notable individuals to speak to students about the issues that matter to this organization. We seek to show the broader campus community the importance and benefit of talking to people with whom they disagree. You can add yourself to our mailing list at http://eepurl.com/hoUln1.
