We Need to Talk about Planning and Designing for Climate Justice - Feb 5

“We Need To Talk about Planning and Designing for Climate Justice” – Friday, February 5 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Join the UT School of Architecture on Friday, February 5 for a Zoom symposium titled “We Need to Talk about Planning and Designing for Climate Justice.” Featuring a panel of leaders in environmental and climate justice, we’ll discuss the ways in which we, as designers of buildings and cities, contribute to climate change and it’s deeply-rooted, systemic impacts, and what we can do now to turn our impact positive. Panelists include Dr. Robert Bullard, known as the “Father of Environmental Justice,” Dr. Kian Goh an urban studies and climate justice scholar from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, and Dallas Goldtooth of the Indigenous Environmental Network who, in conversation with several students, moderated by UTSOA’s own Dr. Miriam Solis, will discuss where we are now, where we need to be, and how we can get there to ensure the health of our planet and its people.
