Call for Submissions - Capital of Texas Research

Below is the call for submissions for the 2021 Capital of Texas Undergraduate Research Conference (CTURC). This is a 100% student-run conference organized by your fellow UT students in the Senate of College Councils, the Research Student Advisory Council, and the Undergraduate Research Journal, with hosting support from UT’s Office of Undergraduate Research. In previous years, CTURC has featured talks by a Nobel Prize-winning researcher and the participation of hundreds of undergrad researchers working in all academic disciplines. Student researchers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this easy and fun opportunity to share their work virtually with other students from UT and across the state! Submissions are due Jan. 22, 2021.

------

The UT Austin's Research Student Advisory Council have announced that the Capital of Texas Undergraduate Research Conference (CTURC) will be returning in a virtual format in January! We have been proud to host one of the state's largest multidisciplinary undergraduate research forums over the past few years, and though circumstances will not permit us to host an in-person session this academic year, our members have been hard at work transitioning the conference to a virtual format.

We are planning for a two-round conference in the early spring semester; presenters will create and upload a two-minute video on their research which will be submitted along with an abstract to https://utexas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3rAId2z8dTKFF5z by January 22nd, 2021, which judges will then score. While currently under construction, the videos will be publicly accessible at https://www.cturc.org when the site is complete.

The highest-scoring presenters will be invited to deliver a longer presentation during our live final round event on February 20th, 2021. As usual, presenters are invited to present their research in ANY field, from fine arts/humanities to the sciences, and there will be prizes, giveaways, and networking opportunities for presenters. Please share this important opportunity with your students and feel free to reach out with any questions!

Sincerely,

The Capital of Texas Undergraduate Research Conference Chairs
