The Balkan Circle is a weekly seminar where lectures, presentations, exhibits, or open interactive dialogues will focus on any (and all) aspects of historical, political, economic, social and cultural phenomena in the (so-called) Balkans.
Under the Radar: Hezbollah on the Balkans with Ruslan Trad
Ruslan Trad is a freelance journalist with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa. Founder of the first Bulgarian blog for the Middle East, Intidar, as well as the organization Forum for Arab Culture. He has lectured on political movements and processes in the Middle East in auditoriums of Sofia University, New Bulgarian University, the Red House and the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He travels frequently to the Middle East, publishing reports from Lebanon, southeastern Turkey, Tunisia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Thailand, and in 2014 made a film in Iraqi Kurdistan on the Islamic State front lines.
